About Jess
A creative eye. A practical mind. A Kentucky heart.
I've always been drawn to storytelling, whether it's through a photograph, an event that brings people together, or the work happening behind the scenes.
I'm a Lexington, Kentucky-based photographer and creative professional expanding my work into film production.
From 2011 to 2022, I owned and operated McClure Photography & Lexington Boudoir, photographing portraits, weddings, and events while managing the creative and business sides of photography. That experience taught me far more than how to make a good image. It taught me how to work with people, adapt to the unexpected, and earn trust.
My professional work in communications, outreach, and customer experience at the University of Kentucky has strengthened those same skills. I've coordinated events, collaborated across teams, worked with diverse audiences, and helped turn complicated situations into manageable plans.
Now I'm bringing that experience to the film industry.
My interests include production assistance, behind-the-scenes and production photography, and location scouting throughout Kentucky. I'm particularly interested in independent filmmaking and stories that reflect the people and character of Appalachia.
I'm also pursuing training in intimacy coordination through Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, with an interest in practices that prioritize communication, consent, and respectful collaboration.
I believe strong creative work depends on more than talent. It depends on preparation, trust, curiosity, and people who are willing to support one another. I love being part of that process.
